Demonetisation has given a new thrust to Transaction Banking in India. India, if it has to get on a global scale, has to increase the depth of digitised payments. Globally, developed and emerging countries including Africa are moving closer to a cashless economy. Virtual currency is also gaining ground and the whole space of transaction banking is set to undergo many disruptions in the coming decade.
